Francis: Stories and Reflections

This month Andy published a new set of stories and reflections on the life of St. Francis through Proost, the brilliant online worship resources website.

Andy has been giving Proost marketing and web support for some time and this is his first piece of material published with the site.

Francis: Stories and Reflections is a little book about the little man from Assisi.  This new devotional book comes from Andy’s love of St. Francis and includes creative rewritings of the stories of Francis mixed with practical activities, prayers and reflections.  There are forty daily devotions in all so it is perfect to accompany Lent but also can be used at any time throughout the year.  The book is also accompanied by five original drawings from Andy’s daughter Jess (see image in this news item).

In the second section Andy consider’s Francis love for the poor and retells Francis first meeting with a man suffering from leprosy on the road to Assisi. Here is a short extract.

“Standing opposite of Francis at that moment stood a man who looked broken on the inside as well as broken and damaged physically.  Somewhere deep within him, suppressing all the horror he felt, Francis found grace, courage and most of all compassion. Francis stepped down from his horse, gave the man a coin and then gently kissed his head.  Deeply moved, the leper kissed him in return. “

The book is download only and available for £3.50.
